ANNOUNCEMENTS

OCTOBER 29, 2013

Jumpin’ Jehosaphat Classmates - - -

We are Mission Ready and really looking forward to seeing everyone at this weekend’s grand celebrations.

Here are some final details about the weekend events.

Friday (November 1) – Evening Lollapalooza:

Casual Gathering – San Antonio Bar & Grill, 6:30pm –ish;

Located:  3908 12th Street, NE, Wash DC, Tele: 202-832-8080.

This is a very casual bar and a very casual gathering.  Appropriate attire includes jeans, a sport coat, bolo ties, cowboy hats, and/or boots.  Please no spurs or golf shoes!   There is no host and there will be no official speeches.  For those of you coming from Out West, the District of Columbia prohibits the carrying of long-guns.

Saturday (November 2) – Afternoon – Carroll vs. DeMatha Football Game at ACHS:

Kickoff is 2:00p.  ACHS has arranged for reserved seating with complimentary tickets.  You will need to pay for parking.  Folks may find it prudent to depart at half-time for multiple reasons including the score and the need to buff-up for the Saturday night extravaganza.  Appropriate attire includes old letter sweaters, saddle shoes, spats, or jeans.  Please do not wear old football uniforms or cleats.

Saturday (November 2) – Evening Dinner - Maggiano’s Little Italy:

Located:  5333 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Wash DC (near Mazza Gallerie).

Tele: 202-966-5500.  Valet Parking is available for $7.00.

Cocktails between 7:00p – 8:00p.  Dinner at 8:00p.

This evening is the Big Palooza so do not hesitate to wear the suit and bowtie, but the bottom line is please wear what is comfortable and floats your boat.  We are preparing nametags and setting aside tables for you.  We aren't sticklers for formality, so you are free to arrange seating and sit with whom you want!

Sunday (November 3) – Mass and Brunch – Carroll Chapel & Carroll Cafe:

Mass at 10:00am at the new Carroll Chapel - Followed by brunch at the renewed Carroll Café and a tour of the old school.

FINAL THOUGHTS:  PLEASE share this information with any of our classmates that you feel might not be on our email or mailing list.  We should be able to accommodate everyone who wants to attend.  It would be good to have any non-registered classmates notify us as soon as possible so that we can make arrangements with the caterers.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email or call Fred Williams at (202-251-2655), John Roddy at (301-655-3530), or Father Mudd at (202-997-0211).

We are extremely excited to see you in the next few days and look forward to a fantastic weekend renewing old friendships and reliving old memories.

GO LIONS!

Cheers – Peace,

The ACHS Class of 1963

September 12, 2013

All Systems Are Go for Our Golden Anniversary Celebration ! ! !

The weekend celebration will include:

  • An informal gathering on Friday evening (November 1) at a local Carroll watering hole;
  • A football game between Carroll & DeMatha on Saturday afternoon (November 2);
  • Our banquet to celebrate the Class of 1963 on Saturday evening (November 2), 7:00p – 11:00p, at Maggianos, in Chevy Chase; and,
  • A tour of the school and a celebration of the Mass on Sunday (November 3).

"The Big Event" on Saturday evening at Maggianos will include hor d’oeuvres, a three-course dinner, dessert, an open bar for beer and wine, and a DJ.  We’re still working on the hummus bar and that dartboard :-).  The price of the event will be $125/person.

Please be on the lookout for a very forthcoming letter from Archbishop Carroll High School with the important information that you will need to save your seats.  The letter will provide more details about the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday events.  So that we can make our final arrangements with Maggianos on October 10th, it would be great if you could respond using the self-addressed envelope by October 1st.  You should make your checks payable toArchbishop Carroll High School.  The return mailing address is:  Archbishop Carroll High School, 4300 Harewood Road, NE, Washington, DC 20017.

You are the most important part of this occasion and we enthusiastically encourage you and yours to enjoy this rare occasion to laugh about our youthful adventures and exaggerate our accomplishments since graduation in 1963

Checkout the Reunion Website (www.archbishopcarrollreunion63.com) and most importantly take a few moments to update your profile on the website and contact other Classmates.

If you need additional information, please do not hesitate to email or call any of the Reunion Planning Committee.  FYI:  Should you have any complaints, please direct them to our moderator The Very Reverend Father John Mudd at Carroll, jmudd@archbishopcarroll.org  :-) :-) :-)

Don’t miss this opportunity to “Share the Memories.”

See you in November ! ! !

Go Lions!

Cheers – Peace, Your Reunion Planning Committee
